The 16-year-old Aussie boy who hacked into Apple’s systems, downloaded internal files and accessed customer accounts has escaped a jail sentence.
The boy who was a fan of the company and hoped to work for Apple one day received an eight month probation order after pleading guilty.
The hacking was conducted between June 2015 and November 2016 and again in April 2017.
The 90GB of information that was taken was stored in a folder named “hacky hack hack” according to reports. The Australian Federal Police searched the teenager’s home last year and seized two computers.
Apple has advised that no customers are affected by the hack. It identified the breach and notified the FBI, which then got in contact with the AFP.
