Apple announces iPhone 8 logic board repair program

Apple has announced a logic board repair program for owners of iPhone 8 models that are affecting by an issue that can cause iPhone 8 models to crash, freeze or restart.

Apple says a small percentage of iPhone 8 models are affected by a manufacturing defect that can cause the issue and is offering a free repair. The issue does not affect the iPhone 8 Plus or other models of iPhone.

To check if your iPhone is one of the affected models that is eligible for free repair grab your serial number and enter it at the following Apple website:

Affected units were sold between September 2017 and March 2018 in Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Macau, New Zealand, and the U.S. Once you have verified you have an affected unit make an appointment at anĀ Apple Retail Store.

Make sure yo backup your iPhone via iCloud or iTunes before taking it in for repair.
