Apple updates MacBook line-up

The 12 inch MacBook and legacy non-retina MacBook Air have been discontinued. It has also tweaked the pricing on the MacBook Air and updated the MacBook Pro.

12 inch MacBook

The small MacBook with only one USB-C port became less relevant when Apple released it’s updated MacBook Air models which were slightly larger, more powerful and had two USB-C ports. It has now been completely discontinued but you can still pick up a Refurbished model in the Refurbished section on Apple’s website.

MacBook Air

The previous generation non-retina MacBook Air was kept around as a low cost option for a Mac laptop but this has also now been discontinued.

The current generation MacBook Air prices have been lowered slightly for those looking for a low cost laptop. The cheapest Apple laptop is now $1,699.00 and now includes aa True Tone display.

MacBook Pro

The MacBook Pro line-up now only includes models with the Touch Bar. The 13-inch MacBook Pro has received a major upgrade with the 8th-generation Intel quad-core processors, a True Tone Retina display and the T2 Security Chip. The updated MacBook Pros start at $1,999.

University Student Pricing for MacBooks

University students Can Purchase MacBook Air for a lower recommended retail price of $1,549 and the 13-inch MacBook Pro for $1,849.
