Microsoft gives up on the Browser Wars

Microsoft has announced that it will be redesigning its Edge web browser to be based on the Chromium engine also used by Google.

Microsoft once dominated the web browser market with Internet Explorer but has dramatically lost market share since Google released its Chrome browser.

The updated version of Microsoft’s browser will mark the return of a Microsoft web browser to the Mac. It will also be available on Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10.¬†

Microsoft last released a web browser for the Mac way back in 2003 with Internet Explorer 5 for Mac.
