New Apple iPad Air & iPad mini released

Apple has released a new 10.5 inch iPad Air and a 7.9 inch iPad mini today. The iPad Air is a lower priced version of the iPad Pro 10.5 inch which has now been discontinued.

Both new models support the Apple Pencil 1st generation with the 2nd generation model being reserved for the iPad Pros.

iPad Air

The iPad Air is available to order today with availability in store from next week. It includes Apple’s A12 Bionic chip with Neural Engine which delivers a 70 percent boost in performance and twice the graphics capability.

Apple iPad Air with Apple Pencil 1st generation & Smart Keyboard

The advanced Retina display with True Tone technology is nearly 20 percent larger than the previous 9.7 model with over half a million more pixels. The new iPad Air also includes support for the Apple Smart Keyboard.

The 10.5-inch iPad Air starts at A$779 inc. GST for the Wi-Fi model and A$979 inc. GST for the Wi-Fi + Cellular model.

It is available in Silver, Space Grey & Gold with 64GB or 256GB of storage.

iPad mini

The new iPad mini is a major upgrade in a compact, ultra-portable design packed with the latest technology. It also includes the A12 Bionic chip which delivers three times the performance and nine times faster graphics.

 The advanced Retina display with True Tone technology and wide colour support is 25 percent brighter and has the highest pixel density of any iPad.

The new iPad mini starts at A$599 inc. GST for the Wi-Fi model and A$799 inc. GST for the Wi-Fi + Cellular model.

It is available in Silver, Space Grey & Gold with 64GB or 256GB of storage.

There were rumours of the new iPads being released next week but Apple has likely announced them early so they don’t distract from the It’s show time event.
