Suncorp adds eftpos to Apple Pay joining ANZ

Share

Customers with Suncorp eftpos or Visa debit cards can now use eftpos with Apple Pay. ANZ was the first launch eftpos with Apple Pay back in January.

Suncorp added Apple Pay for its Visa debit cards back in May last year. The addition of eftpos to Apple Pay means that you are able to withdraw cash at participating retailers.

BP fuel stations, Bunnings, McDonald’s, IGA supermarkets, 7-Eleven, David Jones and NightOwl are among major retailers on board to allow cash out.

Adding eftpos is seen as a retailer friendly move as the transaction costs for retailers are lower and the rise in mobile wallets has seen transactions costs for retailers rise.

The following banks support eftpos in Apple Pay:

  • ANZ Access and Access Advantage customers
  • Suncorp eftpos Card and Visa Debit Card customers
  • CUA eftpos
  • Geelong Bank eftpos
  • Nexus Mutual eftpos
  • People’s Choice Credit Union eftpos
  • SCU More Generous Banking eftpos
  • Woolworths Employees Credit Union eftpos

If you have an existing dual network card (Visa / eftpos) in Apple Pay you will need to re-add it to Apple Pay to enable eftpos.
