According to rumours Apple appears to be readying new versions of its Smart Battery Case for the iPhone XS and potentially the iPhone XR & iPhone XS Max too.
Apple first released a Smart Battery Case for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s which is still available in addition to a version for the iPhone 7.
The original included a 1,877 mAh battery which stuck out of the back of the case. The iPhone 7 version had a similar design but larger 2,365 mAh battery.
9to5Mac found an icon in the watchOS 5.1.2 beta that suggests an upcoming Smart Battery Case and then subsequently obtained alleged images of the new case.
The leaks suggest the case will include a Lightning connector, but it’s unclear if wireless charging will be supported.
The previous models included a chin that protruded past the bottom of the iPhone but the new models appear to not include this.
