Tired of Safari asking you if you want desktop notifications from websites? Here is how you stop it.
Web browsers like Safari and others now allow websites to push notifications to your desktop as new content becomes available.
News, shopping, social media and productivity websites will display a popup informing you that the website wants to show you notifications.
Safari lets you can disable these notification prompts completely if they annoy you.
- Open Safari.
- From the Safari menu click Preferences.
- Select the Websites tab at the top of the window.
- Then click Notifications in the sidebar.
- At the bottom of the window, uncheck the Allow websites to ask for permission to send push notifications check box.
Websites you’ve already given permission to send notifications will still have permission to send notifications even after you uncheck this option.
You can see and manage the list of websites with permissions to send notifications above the check box.
