Apple 31″ 6K Display expected soon, 17″ MacBook Pro in 2021

Ming-Chi Kuo predicts in a new research note that Apple will finally release an update to its professional display. Also, the rumoured 17″ MacBook Pro now won’t arrive until the first half of 2021.

The only information provided about the new display is that it will be 31.6″ and will utilise mini LED backlight. He also expects that the display will have wide colour gamut and high contrast.

We continue to expect that the new display will be revealed at the WWDC keynote which is scheduled to occur on June 3rd at the San Jose McEnery Conference Center.

The MacBook Pro rumour indicates that the new laptop will incorporate mini LED backlighting and include a screen measuring 17″. Earlier prediction from Kou suggested a screen between 16″ and 16.5″ diagonally,

The previous MacBook Pro 17″ model was discontinued by Apple back in 2012 with the largest model currently available measuring 15″.

Kuo previously released a research note on February 17 that also included a prediction of an updated Mac Pro that would mark a return of an easy to upgrade pro desktop.

The new report also indicates the mini LED backlighting may also make an appearance in an upcoming iPad Pro update.
